This earthenware clay adventure starts out by exploring basic pinch, coil and pinch-strip constructions, and then moves onto handbuilding with slabs. We’ll learn how to make seamless cylinders and discover ways of shaping those cylinders into various forms by stretching, darting, and adding lids or handles. Time permitting, we will also work with pre-sized patterns to make functional trays and vessels and create clay “fabrics” with engobes, stencils and stamped impressions. Surface enhancements of all kinds are an integral part of this experience. Beginner/Intermediate. Supplies List available on request.
