Intro to Solarplate Etching

Fall 2018 / Special Workshops
Nicole Patrice Dul

Tackle several approaches to this non-toxic printmaking technique in a one-day introductory workshop! Solarplate etching is easy to learn and produces exciting results. Solarplates are eco-friendly, light sensitized, steel-backed polymer. They enable participants to reproduce photgraphic renderings or drawing through the use of a transparency, UV light and water. Whether a printmaker, painter, mixed-media or photo artist, all art makers will enjoy this process. The workshop culminates in pulling and edition of prints from an etching press. No experience necessary. Registration ends October 29. Participants must send a black and white, 300 PPI , JPEG photo or artwork image to instructor at NPDPrints@gmail.com by Sunday November 4th.
