Introduction to Watchmaking - (Day)
This is a complete course in making a quartz watch. We will be using Swiss quartz movement and stainless steel cases with leather or metal bands. This course concentrates on the dial making and the assembling of a quartz watch. Several techniques of jewelry making will be taught. You will learn how to make a watch dial using the technique of Keum-Boo (24karat gold on silver), enameling, image rolling or embossing, several patinas, adding photographs to a watch face and other surface embellishing. Come prepared to have fun, work hard and to leave withseveral watches. We will also touch on mechnaical and automatic watches. Maximum 8 students.
