Intro to Solarplate Etching

Tackle several approaches to this non-toxic printmaking technique in a one-day introductory workshop! Solarplate etching is easy to learn and produces exciting results. Solarplates are eco-friendly, light sensitized, steel-backed polymer. They enable participants to reproduce photgraphic renderings or drawing through the use of a transparency, UV light and water. Whether a printmaker, painter, mixed-media or photo artist, all art makers will enjoy this process. The workshop culminates in pulling and edition of prints from an etching press. No experience necessary. Registration ends October 29. Participants must send a black and white, 300 PPI , JPEG photo or artwork image to instructor at by Sunday November 4th.

Tuition: $90 Addiional material fee of $30 (paid to the insructor) for Solarplate, Solarplate test strips, Pictorico transparency film and printmaking paper

Nicole Patrice Dul

Nicole holds an M.F.A. in Printmaking from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Tyler School of Art, Elkins Park, PA. She has been teaching art to adults and children for 11 years.
