Nicole Patrice Dul, M.F.A.
Nicole holds an M.F.A. in Printmaking from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Tyler School of Art, Elkins Park, PA. She has been teaching art to adults and children for 11 years.
Learn to masterfully incorporate color in your prints by purposefully blending traditional oil-based printmaking inks and additives. Safe wash inks will also be explored. As you create color resource charts and complete a series of monotype assignments, you will gain knowledge of color mixing techniques. Understanding color interactions, harmonies, value, intensity, contrast, temperature, and transparency/opacity possibilities available with ink can help you advance your specific artistic endeavors. This short course is applicable to any artist who wishes to expand their palette. Participants will investigate the significance of color and optics, and work to improve their perception, continue to establish their own visual language, and develop more consistency and self-assurance in their work. All levels are welcome.
