For Sara Michaels, an accomplished jazz vocalist, singing is soulful, and her heartbeat resonates with her audience. Bringing a background in spiritual music, classic blues, and musical theater, she weaves storytelling into her live performances, taking listeners on a “joy journey” through her beloved musical genre - jazz. Raised in Philadelphia, Reading, and Atlanta, Sara received a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She first began singing in the church, but quickly found her calling in jazz, as a performer and a producer. Click here for more.

Now in its 13th year at the Cheltenham Center for the arts, Jazz Bridge is a non-profit arts organization serving a need no one else is addressing in the Philadelphia area: responding to local jazz and blues artists in times of need. Proceeds from the neighborhood concert series go to help local jazz musicians in personal or professional crisis. Concerts feature prominent jazz and blues musicians during an hour and a half long program which includes a Q&A with the artists.
