New! Printmaking Workshop Series: Alcohol Ink Monotypes and Monoprints

Winter 2025/2026 Classes / Special Workshops

Instructor Nicole Patrice Dul, M.F.A., will offer a workshop every session introducing participants to the broad spectrum of non-toxic printmaking techniques. Classes are beginner-friendly and provide hands-on experience with various processes for creative exploration. The key is to blend the traditional and contemporary, the technical and the expressive, to unlock the full potential of printmaking.

Winter 2025/2026 Workshop: 4 weeks, Fridays 1/9-1/30/26

Alcohol Ink Monotypes and Monoprints

Experiment with alcohol inks in monotype and monoprint making to achieve vivid, translucent effects on non-porous surfaces like gel plates, plexiglass, Yupo paper, and foil, then transfer them to printmaking paper. Create collagraph and drypoint plates, coloring them with alcohol inks, sealing, and transferring them onto print papers for beautiful exploratory monoprints. Alcohol inks create vibrant, spontaneous patterns that can be further enhanced using stencils, stamps, and a variety of tools, such as embossing folders, to add raised textures. This class provides an enjoyable and adaptable approach to exploration, catering to all skill levels and producing distinctive artworks. Supplies include printmaking paper, newsprint, Yupo, gel plates, plexiglass, matboard, embossing folders, stamps, stencils, alcohol inks, mediums, acrylic paints, and tools like brayers. Participants can bring personal supplies, but supplies will be provided.

A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop.

The series continues with new workshops for Spring I and Spring II sessions-Stay tuned!
