Develop your watercolor skills through observation, experimentation, and creative exploration in this studio-based class. Working from life and photographic reference, discover how watercolor can be used to create both realistic representations and expressive, abstract interpretations. The course emphasizes drawing, composition and visual storytelling while introducing essential watercolor techniques such as transparent washes, glazing and layering, wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush, lifting, masking, and expressive mark-making. You'll explore how scale, cropping, edge quality, and brushwork influence the mood, meaning, and visual impact of a painting. All skill levels are welcome.
