Kate VanVliet is a sculptor and printmaker from Philadelphia, recently relocated to Elkins Park, PA. She studied fine arts at Moore College of Art & Design before co-founding BYO Print with a fellow alumna in 2010.

In this 2-day workshop learn how to cast an etching plate, monotype, or linocut in plaster! Over the course of two days, prepare your matrix with oil-based ink, create the mold, and pour a unique plaster print! Sculptural and painterly methods for working back into the plaster print after casting are covered on Day 2. Examples of plaster prints as sculptural objects and as wall hangings will be shown and includes a one-sheet and materials list for casting at home.
Attendees should come with a previously carved block, etched plate or clean plexiglass to make a monotype plaster print.
