Charcoal is one of the oldest, most versatile, and least expensive drawing mediums. This course will emphasize tonal value, perspective, and composition and will include demos, discussions, and critiques. The opportunity to progress your drawing to painting is available. Students will work from a live model for three of the sessions. A great course for beginners as well as more advanced artists, wishing to refine their skills.

Stephen Kennedy is a painter and printmaker who lives and works in Fort Washington, PA. He studied painting with Nelson Shanks and Danni Dawson and has painted portraits for over 30 years. Collections include The Academy of Natural Sciences, Phila, PA, The Athenaeum of Philadelphia, and Campbell Soup Company, Camden, NJ.
