Jewelry Making - Day

Spring II 2024 Classes / Fibers, Metals, Paper, and More

Learn basic jewelry making skills or incorporate your existing knowledge with more advanced capabilities. Through instructor demonstration and hands on practice, students will learn the same skills that professional jewelers use. Our Jewelry Studio has all the tools you’ll need to:  Saw, pierce, rivet, file, solder, add texture and apply finishes and patinas. Base metal (Copper or Brass) will be provided for you to practice technique on the first project. When ready to advance to different designs, you will learn how to order supplies from jewelry making resources. More advanced students will work towards professional results with such techniques as using the Rolling Mill, more controlled soldering, and creating/incorporating hinges. Materials list available at registration. Advanced students need to purchase precious metal (Silver) before class begins. Knowledge of sawing and soldering is helpful but not required. All levels welcome!
