Jewelry Making - Evening

Winter 2024/2025 Classes / Fibers, Metals, Paper, and More

See what goes into the creative process of making jewelry. We’ll start by practicing basic skills to make creative and interesting shapes from base metal. Students will learn how to use some of the different tools available as well as how to use an acetylene torch to solder silver elements together to create jewelry. Additional skills include sawing, filing and simple stone setting. Once students are comfortable with these techniques, they can move on to our first project of a ring with a center stone. With instructor demonstration and supervision, more experienced students can benefit from additional instruction that can help them advance to more involved pieces.
