Advanced Handbuilding in Earthenware Clay

Spring II 2024 Classes / Ceramic Arts

This adventure starts out by exploring basic pinch, coil and slab constructions then moves onto building with templates. We'll not only learn how to form pots using the pinch-strip method, but we’ll also use templates and press molds to make awesome cups, vases & trays. By creating our own patterns and textures on the clay surface, it’s a breeze to build pieces which are truly our own. Colorful surface enhancements, transfers and specialty low fire glazes are also an integral part of this experience. CLAY...I love where it takes me!

Barbara Hanselman

I started my own venture in clay 30 years ago and soon grew to be identified by my hand built whimsical pots. Today I am a Teaching Clay Artist and self proclaimed Claysmith, hand forming earthenware and stoneware into whatever it wants to be.
